New manager has deep roots in community

Sean Ryan, manager of pre-owned vehicles at Valley Toyota, may be new to the dealership but he's no stranger to the community.

Ryan's family owned Valley Ford Lincoln Mercury for more than 20 years, and Ryan worked there for 16. After the family sold the dealership about a year and a half ago, Ryan continued as an employee and came to Valley Toyota in January.

Ryan enjoys being involved in the community through the Rotary club, the local country club and coaching little league and youth soccer. He considered it important that the dealership have a community-minded attitude.

"That's what I really like about this place," Ryan said. "They're very big on giving back to the community. That's important to me."

Ryan has three children with his wife of 13 years, Tracy, a first grade teacher at a local school. Their oldest child is an 11-year-old son, Rex. The other two are 9-year-old identical twin daughters Ally and Lindsey.

News that he was having twins came as quite a shock to Ryan.

"It was insane," Ryan said. "I almost fainted when I found out. I was ecstatic."

Ryan was performing as the master of ceremonies for a Rotary party when he heard the news.

A self-described family man, Ryan enjoys spending time with his kids and has coached their sports teams. He also likes skiing, waterskiing, golfing and fishing. He already sees his son Rex following in his footsteps when it comes to golfing.

"Fostering a family atmosphere at the workplace is an important ingredient in business success," Ryan said. "Happy employees make for satisfied customers."
